With 2 races to go, Wharton wins and confirms his 3rd place in the East division. Musquin (Red Bull KTM), who finished 3rd, looses a couple of points from Wil Hahn (GEICO Honda) 2nd in Houston. Holeshot for Freeberg, with Marvin Musquin (KTM/RED BULL FACTORY) e Hahn right behind him. In the 2nd lap a fierce battle between Musquin and Wharton with the Suzuki rider taking the lead and keeping it though the end. In the 6th lap a bad exit from the whoops for Musquin forces him to work his way up from 4th, in a couple of turns he’s already back in third trying to reach Hahn in 2nd, but nothing changes through the end.

Villopoto goes eight for thirteen and consolidates his leadership. Millsaps makes it even easier finishing only in 5th in Houston, giving away more points from the leader. It was an emotional race at Reliant Stadium: Alessi got the holeshot but midway through the first lap Barcia and Villopoto were already on him, with the latter in the lead. Barcia’s attack was short lived, losing 3 positions in the first lap. With 5 laps to go, Stewart goes down and has to retire; Ryan Dungey (KTM/RED BULL FACTORY) and Trey Canard quickly took advantage of the situation, respectively in 2nd and 3rd, positions they kept until the end of the race, with no success in their attacks to the leader Villopoto. The Kawasaki rider did not feel the pressure and was again first under the chequered flag.
